Excelled in fast-paced environments, rapidly learning and applying new concepts across various departments, significantly enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency.
At the VA medical Center I was put into different departments throughout the hospital. My first week I worked in patients transport. And I’m this department I’ll take patients to and from their appointments. Then I was placed in the emergency room for two weeks, where I shadowed doctors and nurses, and learned about what they do on a daily basis. Then the next two weeks I was placed in physical therapy where I did more shadowing with the doctors, but I could interact more with the patients. My last two weeks I was placed in social work, where I got to work with these two amazing social workers, and I got to learn about their experiences and skills as a social worker.
In my time of interning at karmanos cancer institute, I’ve learned a lot about teamwork because my job I had to work with other employees on a daily basis. My job at karmanos was to take patients to and from their appointments, and making sure they got there on time and are getting picked up on time.
I got intern of the year from both karmons cancer Institute and the VA Medica Center.
