I have become intimately familiar with both the services side, as well as, the equipment side of the solid waste industry in North America. While serving on several volunteer industry association committees with various other manufacturing and solid waste collection company professionals, I have developed relationships nationwide with various hauling companies that use the equipment I manufacture and also equipment I do not but vital to the collection of solid waste in our country. One of those is the commercial collection of construction and industrial waste via roll off trucks and containers. I have insight into the industry standards and best practices necessary to create a profitable waste collection company.
I started Texas Pack + Load from scratch by selecting 2 partners to assist me, my current partner at Petersen Industries, and Lane Batley, a former Petersen employee. Lane is the general manager and oversees the day-to-day operations while I am responsible for all financial aspects of the business. Having started from nothing in 2017, Texas Pack + Load is now the leading distributor of solid waste collection equipment in the State of Texas, currently with 3 locations: San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. WE have grown from $0 sales to nearly $25 million expected revenue for 2024.
50% Owner, President & CEO of Petersen Industries. Purchased company in February 2012. Have since grown the company from $8 million in annual revenue to $75 Million. Petersen is the solid waste industry's leading equipment manufacturer of bulk waste collection equipment, having more than 60% market share.
While serving out a multi-year non-compete agreement with my former employer that purchased a company I managed, I attained my commercial insurance license (2-20) and began selling commercial P&C insurance for a leading representative in the Central Florida market. After my non-compete expired, I decided to return to the truck equipment manufacturing industry.
After college I began my professional career with a company my father owned called Jim Hardee Equipment Company. I served many positions prior to becoming President/ General Manager in 2004. While leading the company through several growth initiatives, we were approached by a private equity group wanting to acquire the company. I led the company through the acquisition, remained employed with the private equity group for one additional year guiding the company through the transition process. Jim Hardee Equipment was a distributor of solid waste collection equipment in the State of Florida and also manufactured it's own branded line of dump bodies and dump trailers for the aggregates industry.
