I got this award along with a fellow friend in the same grade as me. It was only 2 of us that had received this. I won this award through sheer determination and hard work through an ensemble with my concert choir or gospel choir, performing the national anthem in front of governor Ned lamont at his inauguration, being chosen as the only student from ym school to perform at the New England Music Festival Association (NEMFA) two years in a row and even getting in the school of performing arts at Uconn. There might be many more situations that have caused me to receive this award such as being a high honor roll student and being a teacher's favorite. I do know that the most important thing in getting this award was my sheer determination to use music to always drive me forward.
