Forestry & Fire Preparedness Experience
Rooted in a deep love for nature and a lifelong connection to the outdoors, I bring hands-on experience in fire mitigation and land stewardship. Through years of homesteading and community-based forestry work, I’ve actively participated in seasonal fire preparedness efforts across farms, homesteads, and communal lands—particularly during my four years living in Ashland, Oregon, where wildfire risk is high and fire consciousness is a way of life.
Key Experience Highlights:
Skilled in chainsaw operation and land clearing techniques, including falling, limbing, thinning , and removal of combustible underbrush and deadfall within forested areas.
Assisted with wildfire mitigation across multiple properties, supporting small farms and homesteads in creating defensible space and safe perimeters.
Comfortable working with rugged terrain and variable climates, often volunteering seasonally to help friends and farmers prepare for the dry summer months.
Oversaw operations for a 40-acre large-scale hemp cultivation facility, managing the complete lifecycle of hemp production from field to final product. Led diverse teams of 30–60 seasonal and full-time workers across multiple departments with a strong emphasis on systems efficiency, product quality, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities & Accomplishments:
Developed and implemented streamlined protocols to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and support a positive work environment.
Coordinated resource management and transportation logistics to support field operations and crew mobility.
Managed crop readiness by monitoring plant maturity and environmental indicators to time harvests for peak quality.
Designed, built, and managed industrial-scale drying facilities, maintaining optimal temperature, humidity, airflow, and spacing for efficient curing.
Directed final-stage processing operations, including trimming crews, equipment management, quality control, packaging, and distribution logistics.
Led product development and packaging design initiatives to support market readiness and brand consistency.
Oversaw forestry and land management initiatives, including tree felling, forest thinning, and limbing to reduce fire fuel loads in surrounding areas—protecting both the farm and personnel during wildfire season.
Worked as part of a state-led ecological research and conservation initiative focused on preserving native fish populations across Northern California’s waterways. Conducted extensive fieldwork and data analysis to support annual fish population assessments and environmental management programs.
Key Responsibilities & Accomplishments:
Surveyed designated rivers, streams, and creeks within assigned ecological zones to assess habitat conditions and monitor aquatic species activity.
Constructed and maintained live capture devices in diverse aquatic environments to facilitate ethical data collection of fish populations.
Conducted routine equipment checks and field repairs to ensure functionality, accuracy, and environmental safety of live capture systems.
Collected detailed population data as part of the department’s annual fish count, including species identification and individual counts.
Performed daily data entry, organizing and inputting findings into state databases to support long-term population tracking and ecological policy development.
