I have developed a multidisciplinary background to comprehend and investigate brain function post various types of strokes. My focus lies in understanding the signal pathways in Mouse Models of Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO), global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).
Following ischemic injury, the swift and effective recovery of cerebral blood vessels can salvage reversible damage to neurons and enhance functional improvement. A close interplay exists between inflammation and necroptosis after I/R injury. This understanding is crucial for establishing a foundation for effective therapeutic options to safeguard against extended neurovascular injuries. A promising therapeutic strategy for treating I/R injury involves targeting the RIP3 and neuroinflammation-mediated necroptosis signaling pathway from the cytoplasm to the nucleus.
MiRNA methylation modification emerges as a significant mechanism contributing to neuronal death after a stroke. Based on my previous research findings, the methyltransferase METTL3 and necroptosis protein RIP1/RIP3 exhibited the most significant up-regulation post-stroke. I propose delving into the RIP1/RIP3 signaling pathway mediated by miRNA methylation modification, aiming to unveil the mechanism of m6A/miRNA in regulating neuronal necroptosis.
