  • Cover TCU athletics, including football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Attend games and assess athletes for injuries and various medical illnesses during clinic hours about 1/2 day per week.
  • As a co-chief fellow, responsible for creation of fellows' event coverage schedule.
  • Various per-participation physicals at the high school and college level.
  • Cover Nelson and Texas Wesleyan athletics, mainly help cover football games.
  • Cover Lone Star Brahmas Hockey.
  • Cover Hotter'n than Hell bike race in Wichita Falls, TX.
  • Serve as the team physician for Carter Riverside high school here in Fort Worth, TX for the past 3 years.Attend football games and treat injuries if existed. Hold once/wk training room sessions to evaluate various MSK injuries as well as concussions.

Hobbies and Interests

Soccer, Play in Fort Worth Adult Soccer league with co-residents and other fellows from different departments within JPS Hospital network, games on weekly basis., Tennis, 1/month, with my sister or fiancée, or co-fellows., Running, Aim to run 2-3x/wk, participate in yearly Thanksgiving races with my in-laws in Atlanta, GA., Enjoy preparing a meal from scratch, favorite dishes range from scrambled eggs to a variety of Ethiopian cuisine.

Research

  • The use of Mnemonics to Aid the Formulation of a Diagnosis, Department of Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School, 09/01/20, 04/30/21, Dr. Adwait Mehta, Worked actively with the first author from the inception to completion of a yearlong educational research project. The research project studied the use of the mental framework, VINDCATES and its' effectiveness on increasing 3rd and 4th medical students' ability to generate differential diagnosis. Responsible for data collection and synthesis of graphs along with the introduction of the paper. Abstract submitted to Medical Education on 07/2021.
  • COVID-19 and Psychosis Case Report, 01/01/21, 07/31/21, Dr. Emily Wu, Responsible for data collection and synthesis of introduction.
  • The role of Tibialis Anterior strengthening in patients with knee osteoarthritis, 07/01/25, Present, Dr. Michael Stewart, Quality improvement project started to assess the value of tibialis anterior strengthening exercises in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Currently on pre-intervention data collection phase.
