As Assistant Asset Protection Manager my duty was to fulfill the role of being a leader by training Asset Protection Detectives in the field of Loss prevention. In addition, I am responsible for overseeing internal as well as external operations, regarding employee (internal) or customers (external) stealing from the company. My job includes employee scheduling, employee guidance, reviewing cyber reports, shortage reports, attending meetings and assisting my team with external cases via Camera or floor surveillance. The primary goal was to limit the store's shortage.
My Challenge: I hired a team of individuals who had never worked security before. In 6 months time I was able to teach them how to be comfortable making hand on apprehensions, how to work multiple cameras throughout the entire store for efficient surveillance and how to handle a variety of stressful situations.
My Impact: During my time working here i was challenged with keeping the store shortage under $1,000.000. By the end of the fiscal year my store's total shortage was $718,000.
Develop and train new security officers for growth and development in the field. Investigate criminal violations on private property via CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) Cameras throughout different facilities. Maintain a secure perimeter across multiple facilities. Prepare reports relative to all theft, incidents as well as hourly patrols. Responsible for writing employee work schedules. Promote theft awareness and deterrence among associates within the facilities by conducting weekly meetings and participating in training events.
I provided main gate security to the entrance of a private facility. I would check employee ID's and Open the gate for any incoming employees. I Wrote hourly reports based off of my hourly foot patrols. Responsible for escorting dishonest, aggressive or negligent employee terminations from the facility. In addition, I helped coordinate any important information between incoming truck deliveries and the production managers running the factory.
Challenged with the goal of keeping a high shortage store under $1,000,000. By the end of the fiscal year my store's total shortage was $718,000. As a result my store was #1 in the district and was awarded with a certificate for Top Shortage Percentage vs Company Goal.
