Graduate Research Assistant

Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station
College Station , TX
2020.08 - Current
  • Developed novel testing methodologies to accurately assess printability of ceramic/metallic composite materials for additive manufacturing
  • Drove materials characterization & failure analysis of ceramic, composite, and metallic materials using SEM, EDS, EBSD, micro-hardness testing, & various lab techniques.
  • Enhanced performances of ceramic, composite, and metallic materials utilizing advanced analytical techniques, including microstructure analysis and mechanical property characterization, to optimize materials for enhanced performance and sustainability.
  • Improved quality of high-carbon steel fibers through adoption of polymer coatings and galvanization techniques, and validated performance through metallurgical analysis using optical microscopy, hardness testing, tensile testing, and microstructure SEM analysis
  • Produced weekly reports and publications in 5 peer-reviewed journals throughout my program.
  • My research enhanced understanding of failures of high-carbon steel fibers in composites and enabled design and fabrication of durable and corrosion-resistant fibers for use in composites.

Visiting Researcher

EMPA Laboratories
Zurich , Switzerland
2023.05 - 2023.07
  • Assisted in analyzing issues related to material failure during fabrication by conducting root cause analysis based on microstructure analysis data.
  • Led multiple failure analysis investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions of mechanical and corrosion failures in of High-Carbon Steel fibers.
