As an aspiring physician deeply committed to public health, my passion lies in delivering care and support to those in need. My background in microbiology and community health is the cornerstone of my goal to enhance healthcare outcomes. I am proficient in data analysis, project management, and community outreach. My dedication is firmly rooted in improving the well-being of individuals and communities, driven by a heartfelt desire to effect positive change in the healthcare sector.
In 2024, I joined the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care (ADC) study, a 10-year collaborative research initiative between Riverside University Health System (RUHS) and UCLA, focused on improving care for underserved populations. In this role, I managed day-to-day study operations, including conducting patient follow-ups, and coordinating communication with primary care providers. I contributed to drafting, proofreading, and editing grant proposals that supported the acquisition of additional funding, and assisted in developing budget outlines and resource management plans to strengthen project sustainability. Through this experience, I expanded my skills in public health research, grant writing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and program support.
I served as a medical assistant with a range of duties, including patient triage, monitoring vital signs, documenting medical histories, and coordinating laboratory tests and referrals. This role required strong problem-solving skills and the application of my Spanish language abilities in patient communication.
As a Child Care Worker at Aspiranet, I supported foster youth from newborns to 17 years old, providing daily supervision, behavioral guidance, and trauma-informed emotional support. I coordinated closely with social workers, documented case updates, and completed county-required paperwork to ensure compliance with care standards. My duties also included monitoring safety, assisting with hygiene and nutrition needs, de-escalating crises, and adapting care plans for children experiencing instability, abuse, or neglect. This role strengthened my ability to manage complex behavioral and emotional needs while maintaining a supportive, structured environment.
