Founded a student organization at Tufts University in collaboration with the nonprofit New England XP to support individuals and families affected by Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP).
• Working alongside attending doctor during annual skin cancer screenings, assisting with patient evaluations, documentation, and biopsies.
• Assisting in the treatment and removal of cutaneous basal cell carcinoma and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, as well as cysts and nevi, through electrodessication or curettage, and surgical excisions.
• Help prepare and complete patient documentation, including clinical notes and procedural records.
• Leading an independent research project aimed at identifying a virome biomarker to stratify high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) patients. This work aims to implement the developed biomarker testing technique in hospital-based settings to enable earlier intervention and monitoring, thereby reducing costs and delays associated with late detection of elevated cSCC risk.
• Collaborating with mentor and other lab members to investigate how cutaneous commensal viruses may activate or enhance anti-tumor immune responses across multiple cancer types.
