International student studying at MICDS. Highly self-disciplined. Want to acquire an MD-PhD in college and do medical research in the field of neuroscience. Very steadfast and willing to gain lab experience from humble jobs.
I have wanted to work in a neuroscience lab since middle school. Initially, I was interested in psychology, but as I grew, I realised that it left many questions unanswered. For example, why would memories be modified if we retrieve and restore them? I soon turned my focus to neuroscience, whose advancement lead to the betterment of human society, since every behaviour and symptom has its biological basis. The frontier of medical science lies in countless laboratories throughout the world. I have always wanted to participate in a neuroscience lab, even starting from modest chores. I value this as a great opportunity for me to learn and gain experience, so I do not require any payment. I am available from early April to early August, but I can extend it if needed. I would like to reiterate that it has been a childhood dream of mine to join a neuroscience lab, and I would love to work for your lab over the summer.
