For the last six years I have been employed by Sewall Child Development an inclusive + trans-disciplinary pre-school in the Congress Park neighborhood.
I began my role as a teacher’s aide helping teachers and children in the classroom. The ratio in each classroom is about 50/50 with typical children however each classroom is greatly different depending on the needs of the children. In the couple year I have also been writing the parent Newsletters, keeping families up to date with all the amazing work we do and have been involved with the school’s food program through partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Landslide Political | 01.2019 - 10.2021
In between jobs I would work as a Cavasser for Landslide Political. As a political science graduate, I feel it’s incredibly important to be engaged with your community at a local level. Going door to door canvassing is incredibly important grassroots initiative and a civic responsibility I am glad to be apart of.

Compost Colorado | 02.2020 - 10.2020
After taking some time to myself I found myself working for Compost Colorado. A small start-up, with the intent of improving waste management within the Denver metro; an issue I am quite passionate about.
In whole the operations of the business consisted of picking up buckets of waste (ideally food scraps) from our subscribers and cleaning those buckets. Dealing with food waste every day wasn’t the most gracious of tasks; but someone had to do it.
I also took some diligence as account manager. This responsibility consisted of approaching new clients (i.e. restaurants and office spaces) and ensuring existing members were happy with the service being provided.

Entourage Hemp | 07.2018 - 03.2019
During this time I had worked as a production associate for a small, family owned CBD Company. Working off various orders the tasks were usually repetitive but require a great amount of attention to assure quality control of every product. Tasks include labeling, weighing, and packing products to meet the wholesaler’s needs.
The company’s product line includes a handful of medicated salves, tinctures, and terpene based E liquids.

BoMar Arga Estates | 12.2017 - 06.2018
An industrial hemp farm in remote Blanca, Colorado. During this time I was a caretaker for thousands of plants and the primary cloner at the facility. During this time, I was taking clones with a success rate of 95%.
Often working off rough guidelines and plants needs; the business was a great opportunity, which taught myself a great deal about organic agriculture and the challenges of working a large-scale farm.

Community and Service
Sewall Child Development, While working for Sewall I was often engaged and part of many community efforts and projects. Some included working with food banks to ensure all our food pantries were stocked, working with Rotary clubs to help with renovations and working with our partners to ensure healthy outcomes for all our families.
Campaigning for Tim Hernandez, 2023, During his campaign I was greatly involved in working and canvassing for Tim for his reelection into house district 4. In many ways he was the most progressive candidate, and one I greatly related to. I believe Tim was very outspoken for marginalized communities, and as a local educator felt like he would have made the most direct and lasting change. I spent many weekends helping organize meetings and discussing ways to promote Tim’s cause.
Parque National Patagonia, 2018-09, 2018-10, I got the incredible opportunity through the Tompkins Conservation (if you are unfamiliar with the program look them up!) to volunteer at their beautiful organic garden in the newest National Park in Chile. For over a month I got to live a simple lifestyle and learn about various sustainable gardening techniques., The goal was to produce enough food for the park employees and restaurant at the park. Using nothing but hand tools and gardening methods of Eliot Coleman. Together another volunteer and I prepped most of the garden due to it being the last month of winter. Together we removed weeds, and created compost for the season, and planted over 70 elevated beds with various early season produce such as kale, spinach, and green onion!
MUN, 2015, 2018, Model United Nations or MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students initiate roles of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues. Teaching an array of global perspectives, policies, and formal debating skills. As a part of the MUN club we worked annually to fundraise money to compete in a conference; often overseas. Along with that we also participate in a great amount of community of service around the San Luis Valley to promote equal learning opportunities and growth of the community.
