I am a graduating senior at Washington State University completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I have spent my undergraduate years completing requirements for medical school which has led me to complete advanced coursework in chemistry, biochemistry, and biology. During this time I also completed a graduate-level course in molecular biology. During my time at Washington State University, I have been involved in the Pre-medicine club, research projects, volunteering, Biology Club, the Emerging Leaders program, and as a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity to which I served in a leadership role as the Recruitment Chair. I was engaged in an on-campus job for five out of the six semesters I was on-campus as a Project Leader for the Center for Civic Engagement. Recently, I was awarded the Washington State University Employee of the Year in the Leadership category as a result of my effort while working for the Center for Civic Engagement. I was also a finalist in the Chancellors Award Competition and a nominee for the Top Senior Award.
As a person, I am an evidence-based people-orientated individual who is continuously striving for improvement and knowledge. I have cultivated skills and knowledge in the scientific disciplines of Biology and Chemistry that allow me to apply knowledge and creativity to complex problems. I have furthermore continued to develop and enhance my people skills throughout my time at Washington State University. I have done this through my time as a Project Leader and as a Recruitment Chair. These characteristics were cultivated in unison with leadership characteristics as well. I am hard-working, detail-oriented, unrelenting, adaptable, and a team player.
