Xavier Mill Creek Macroinvertebrate Research, Dr. Mollie McIntosh, 08/20 - 05/21, Under the supervision of Dr. Mollie McIntosh, a group of six students, including me, were tasked with extracting aquatic macroinvertebrates from the Mill Creek watershed in Cincinnati, OH from two different sites, upstream and downstream from two different stream habitats, pools/glides and riffles. These macroinvertebrates were collected, counted, and identified for data preparation. The data collected was used in a continuous study by the university to understand the Mill Creek watershed as macroinvertebrates are indicators of stream water quality. Each student then formed their own thesis about the macroinvertebrates based on the compiled data.
