Attending Tulane for Graduate School to obtain a dual degree for Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Disaster Resilience Leadership.
• Monitor patrons on the beach with attention to aquatic users; act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency; carry out the rescue of any person(s) in difficulty or distress and inform command staff if back up is required.
• Provide emergency care and first aid treatment until the arrival of emergency medical services, carry out dry-land and in-water missing person searches and other safety interventions and preventative actions as required to prevent/treat death or injury, minimize risk and maintain public safety.
• Educate the public about beach safety and the beach flag warning system for rip currents and hazardous marine life.
• Enforces City Ordinances pertaining to the beach strand.
