I am a hard worker who places a huge emphasis on the importance and value of teamwork and compassionate patient care. I pursued nursing because I felt it was my calling from God and gave me an opportunity to help others through healing and compassion. I have three years of LVN experience working in geriatrics, providing hospice care, and being an effective advocate for my patients in a skilled nursing facility. I went on to obtain my RN license and worked at a skilled nursing facility for about a year after that. Then, I worked as a staff RN at my current healthcare facility for 2 years before I was offered a Nurse Manager position and it has opened my eyes to the value of leadership and management as I continue in my education and obtain my Master's degree in Leadership and Management. I also plan to obtain a Nurse Practitioner degree in the near future. I'm open to any opportunity that comes my way that allows me to grow and learn! I often participate and/or volunteer in community activities through my church and hospital, reflecting a passion for patient and community welfare.
I have an interest in missionary nursing someday, as I have gone on a few mission trips here and discovered how enlightening they are. I love to travel because of my military upbringing and feel that combining my faith with my love of nursing and taking care of others would strengthen my faith and skills and broaden my knowledge and capabilities. I also have a huge interest in fitness and display that by running 5K races every month. I also love learning and seek to obtain a medical-surgical certification someday.
