I cared for three children during my three year period with this family. When I started with them the children were aged 2mo, 6yo and 8yo. The 6yo boy was Level 2 autistic with learning and behavioral issues. I worked most days from 7am-6pm so I was an integral part of their day to day lives and was there for most of the children’s waking hours during the school week.

  • Prepared breakfast each morning for the children before school.
  • Took all three children in the family vehicle to drop off the school aged children at their respective schools in central Queens and Long Island. In the afternoons we would pick up the oldest child from her school in Queens; the 6yo arrived by bus.
  • Spent most of the day with baby engaging in age appropriate play and development including tummy time, learning letters and numbers, reading books, and going for walks.
  • Developed a feeding routine with baby starting with breast milk bottles, slowly introducing solids as he grew.
  • Prepared snacks and dinner for children in the afternoons and evenings, while adhering to strict kosher guidelines, as well as being careful with allergy restrictions for the 6yo.
  • Provided homework help to school aged children daily.
  • Organized outings to parks, libraries, zoos and museums during summers and school breaks.
  • Attended doctor’s appointments for the children with the mother when needed.
  • Helped with light household tasks such as organization, sweeping/vacuuming, dishes, and laundry pertaining to children.
  • Took oldest child to taekwondo lessons weekly.
  • Practiced mindfulness and boundaries with children in ways they could understand.
