• Smith was selected to join a mentoring program that funds short projects to develop into feature films produced by Fox Searchlight.
• Smith is a filmmaker who won the 2003 Los Angeles Film Festival for his short film, The Freak. Mandalay Pictures optioned it to be made into a feature, which he will produce.
