Robert Massimi

• Returned to the Ramapo Saints Hockey Association after leaving the New Jersey Devils Youth program.
• Responsible for performing day-to-day operations around the facility, such as coaching boys' and girls' hockey, scorekeeping games, helping around the front desk area, and other tasks related to management.
• In this position, I mentor players of all different backgrounds and walks of life. I've coached from ages 4 to ages 18, teaching players how to skate and working patiently to develop all players.
• With this role, I've experienced and handled adolescents with varying disabilities, such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and more. Being in this role has motivated me to pursue a dual masters degree in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling.

In this role, I must apply management skills in scheduling games, practices, and ensuring all families are organized. Additionally, I must sell my skills as a coach to draw interest in gaining new players to the program.

• Initially hired as the goaltending coach for both the boys and girls varsity and junior varsity ice hockey programs.
• In the position of the goaltending developer, I would view video and provide education to each goalie, further educating them and guiding them through adversity.
• After being with the program as the goaltending coach, I was approached to be promoted to an assistant boys varsity coach due to the respect I was drawing from players, while still being asked to continue my role as the girls varsity goaltending coach.
• As an assistant boys varsity coach, I am responsible for mentoring all of the student-athletes and helping them develop both on and off the ice. My goal is to mentor all athletes, regardless of background, and ensure they're in a better place to succeed.

• Hired by the head of USA Hockey to scout goaltenders and train them to get ready for international competition.
• I work within the Atlantic District, which is New Jersey, Delaware, and the eastern portion of Pennsylvania.
• In this role, I evaluate the top goalies within the region and run them through various obstacles to find the best options.
• After identifying top contenders, I work to develop them through video training, on-ice training, and through classroom sessions.

Skills associated with this role are management, community relations, and being a positive mentor to kids striving to be professional athletes.

• Actively involved in instructing ice hockey players with the New York Rangers "Junior Rangers" hockey program, which takes place at Sport-o-Rama Ice Rinks in Monsey, New York.
• Responsible for coming up with practice plans, organizing groups, and setting up kids to play weekly games.
• Creating a learning environment for young kids and keeping them passionate about ice hockey.
• Manages over 65 players on the ice at once and organizes drills to keep kids engaged.

Skills involved in this role are managing players, managing parents, developing structured plans, classroom experiences, and selling our staff in order to gain interest of potential clients.

• Was hired by the head of goaltending development for USA Hockey.
• In this role, I am responsible for providing goaltenders of all ages, skills, and backgrounds with high-level training to better assist them in their future of ice hockey.

• Hired by the Army goaltending coach to travel to various different hockey programs around the tri-state area and train goaltenders.
• I am responsible for training goaltenders of all ages, skills, and backgrounds with high-level training to better assist them in their future of ice hockey.

• Hired by the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club to be the head of goaltending development program-wide and also was assigned to coach a variety of different teams within the program.
• Responsible for coaching both boys and girls hockey and assisted running varying age groups, ranging from 4-year-olds to 19-year-olds.

In my position with this role, I was tasked to apply several different skills. As a coach, I would manage my teams schedule and all families in order to stay organized. In addition to management, I would have to sell myself as a coach to peak the interest of potential customers to play for the program and my teams.

• Hired to provide education to elementary school students while raising money for the PTA.
• Taught leadership lessons and provided mentorship, also setting up pep rallies and fun activities at the conclusion of the two week program.
• Helped raise over one-hundred thousand dollars for a variety of elementary schools across New Jersey.

In this role, I was privileged to work with elementary school students around the state of New Jersey with different backgrounds and from various walks of life. This was a rewarding opportunity because of the impact I had on the next generation.

• Served as a member of the Ramapo Saints Youth Hockey Association, before taking the role of Director of Goalie

Operations for the New Jersey Devils Youth program.

• Became the youngest head coach and assistant coach to serve on staff and developed quite the coaching resume in the process.
• Was deemed the "most passionate," the "hardest working," and the "coach of the year" in my final season with the Saints organization. Rebuilt a team in my last season, which was considered the most improved team in program history.

In this role, I worked with all different age groups, ranging from 4 to 18. I managed multiple teams, worked as a secretary, was a timekeeper for games, helped teach kids how to skate, and performed many other tasks.

In order to be successful, I had to sell myself to potential clients, build a positive rapport with players and families, come up with practice plans to develop my players, and other necessary skills relevant to development.

• Served as a private lesson instructor for both skaters and goaltenders.
• Stopped working here due to a facility closure in 2019.

• Volunteered over 200 hours assisting goaltenders and players between the ages of 12 and 14.
• As a student in high school at the time, I wanted to give back to the hockey community and help the program develop.

I was a secretary for my dads investment firm. I handled phone calls and assisted him with paperwork in my time here.
