A culturally competent and curious student of Arabic and sociolinguistics hoping to further study Arabic, linguistics, and endangered languages at SOAS in London. With experience serving refugees, I am particularly interested in contact-induced language variation, language ideology and belief, and language as an identity marker. I am also particularly intrigued by the endangered Modern South Arabian languages, particularly Socotri, which I hope to research and aid in language documentation and revitalization.
