Playing Soccer and Running (ran a 10K)
Recently, I took up the challenge of running late last year. I loved it and it became an integral part of my life. I challenged myself to participate in a 10k race to see where i would fall. I trained hard for 2 months while attending school and work full time. I finished within the top 50 in the race which I was extremely proud of. While training, I learned how much I thrived under tutelage and structure. Running that race gave me a new found confidence that I could accomplish anything I put my mind to. I have also grown a keen interest in soccer (as a sport and to watch). Learning the game has helped me reaffirm my appreciation for hard work as I've begun to understand the fundamentals from zero. It has also helped my grow bonds with new people which gave me a new found confidence to get to of my comfort zone.
