- I had worked 40 hours a week as an unpaid 'intern' pharmacy technician at Fred Meyer from September 1st 2010 until mid November of 2010 before they officially hired me as a float Pharmacy Technician where my duties were as follows. I would receive a schedule a week in advance as to what store I was assigned to that week and then I would go and perform either Data entry, where I would take the prescription, enter all required information into the system, bill insurance and make sure it went through to product dispensing unhindered, or product dispensing where I would match up the NDC number and product name, count out the correct number of tablets, put them in an amber vial and pass them down to be verified by the Pharmacist. Both of these duties included answering the telephone and fielding the questions or requests made by customers and doctors offices on a regular basis
