I work as a member of an enterprise support team, and I provide local site support for Red Hat Linux servers and workstations. Install new/rebuild existing Red Hat servers and workstations. Configure server and workstation hardware, peripherals, services, SAN storage, and local storage; perform backups and restoration in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Write bash and Ansible scripts to automate system administration and maintenance tasks. Install vendor software and scientific open source packages. Apply Red Hat and other software patches/updates. Write and review IT policies and procedures for both use and security. Responsible for evaluating new hardware and software needs along with associated costs. Create and maintain computer system network topography diagrams. Work with management to ensure compliance with security protocols. Maintain documentation on the operations and configurations.
