• VP of Student Affairs & Communications/Dean of Students (2021-Present)

As Vice President of Student Services, I serve as the chief student officer for the College and report directly to the President. My primary responsibility is to provide leadership, management, and supervision for student services programs, student services personnel, financial aid, student housing, recruiting and retention, and enrollment management.

I am also responsible with overseeing the institution's marketing and communications strategy.

• In the office of marketing and communications, I provide supervision and direction to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy targeting both external and internal audiences, monitor all external visible outreach utilizing mass communications tactics including but not limited to print materials, digital media, social media, email marketing, print and digital advertising campaigns, and media outreach.

As the Dean of Students, I am responsible for support services; managing and evaluating assigned managers, supervisors, division/departments, and staff, in conformance with appropriate policies and procedures; promote and educate students on acceptable conduct and keep the campus community informed of student codes of conduct; board policies and administrative procedures, and behavioral issues; serve as the college disciplinary officer; investigate disruptive student behavior reports, process appeals, initiate warnings, suspension, and disciplinary actions.

• Director of Student Services (2019-2021)

Responsible for the planning, management, direction, and implementation of student services programs. In this role I supervised and provided leadership to the offices of student success and student life. Specific responsibilities included creating a plan of action for the first year experience of the Criswell 360 Common Student Experience. We successfully laid a strong foundation that cares for first year students through peer communities, thrive seminars, sophomore summit (a capstone event of student's first year) and social engagement opportunities. Additionally, in collaboration with Academic Affairs, we implement a major declaration ceremony, improved the graduate level experience for new graduate students and developed the first student development week, launching on fall semester 2021.

Other responsibilities included working with students with special accomodations, working with the Dean of Students to address and resolve conduct issues and student complaints. Additionally, building strong relationship with Academic Affairs and faculty to better serve at-risk students.

Led a comprehensive missions program from initial stages (planning, developing, and coordinating) both locally and globally; led selection committee of student missionaries; managed budget for missions program, managed logistics for each missions endeavor; assisted in chapel services coordination; managed and balanced fiscal budget for the missions and ministries department; managed fiscal budget for Alumni Relations; supervised work/study employees (p/t) and provided guidance to alumni volunteers; supervised the creation and mailing of all announcements and appeals; developed and managed student clubs and organizations to meet the diverse needs of the college and community; provided support and direction to student groups, organizations and advisors through leadership, organizational and resource development; prepared, placed, and monitored interns, cultivated and developed relationships with churches and local organizations for community service projects/partnerships.

Provided and conducted leadership seminars, training, workshops and campus-wide events for faculty advisors, students, student government organization, and other student groups and organizations. Facilitated cross-cultural dialogue and communication among diverse campus constituencies. Assisted in student success center, including making proper accommodations for students with special needs. Build relationships between the University and local churches. Directed University and community events to build community and connections. Provided pastoral care to students.

Founded the very first student ministry in the life of the university. In my second year, I led the way to establish a partnership between BUA and Texas Baptists (BGCT) to officially install a Baptist Student Ministry program at BUA. This program continues to thrive and provide spiritual guidance to students. Responsibilities included; directing the Baptist Student program in the enlistment of students: involving them in worship, evangelism, missions, discipleship, Bible study, and fellowship. Established key strategies in developing an enlisting program, missions and outreach ministries, educational and spiritual retreats and convention trips, seminars, study projects, social and recreational activities, and international student strategy that leads students to reach out to all students on their campus that come from other countries.

During my time at SSBC, I was able to revamp the student ministry by providing leadership and attention in the areas of discipleship, outreach and service. The student ministry grew from 5 students to 30 students becoming active members. Responsibilities, included, developing and implementing all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Recruited and trained volunteers to work with youth in all aspects of youth ministry and ensured adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios; served as liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth and youth ministries.

Served as a point of contact for prospective graduate students interested in the DBU-San Antonio campus. Outreach responsibilities included representing the university at local churches once a moth, attend BUA alumni events to promote all DBU graduate programs and attend local association meetings/gatherings.

In this role I planned and implemented new marketing materials to promote the university's various majors, increased the diversity on campus by increasing the total number of countries represented by 3 through the international student population recruited, and successfully completed several state-wide and international recruitment travel to 9 different cities in Texas and in Mexico to build institution brand awareness.

Developed and provided diverse programming for students that points toward three main environments of growth: Spiritual Life, Group Life, and Ministry Life. This included but not limited to worship services, Bible studies, camps, conferences and retreats, discipleship groups, mission opportunities, and outreach events. Fostered open communication with parents/guardians. Assured proper care of facilities used by student programs.
