Intelligent and passionate individual who hopes to utilize the University of Alabama's Honor College to expand my leadership skills and accelerate my academic experiences while creating thoughtful impacts on the school and those around me.
My responsibilities as an animal care attendant include caring for boarding dogs and monitoring their behaviors. Additionally, I assist veterinarians in tasks such as restraining animals, assisting in
c-sections, and providing insulin to diabetic animals. As a shift lead, I also train new employees, create the schedule, and lead during my shift.
I taught all levels and ages of riders including riders with disabilities how to control and communicate with their horse properly. In addition, I taught children how to have a bond with their horse on the ground by teaching them how to groom, feed, and take care of the horse they rode. I was responsible for giving horses medication and closing the barn up for the night as well.
I led groups of children safely through variety of camp activities including riding, leading, and turning horses outside. I created fun and engaging activities including scavenger hunts and escape rooms for the campers to have fun and interesting ways to learn.
I prepared equipment and lessons prior to classes. I taught a variety of age and skill levels how to swim, float, and enjoy the water. Notes on strengths and weaknesses of each child in class were noted by me to track progress and focus on skills needing improvement.
