Abigail Thompson; M.D. candidate at Washington University of Health Sciences, Belize. Prior to starting clinical clerkship, Teacher's assistant for the patient-doctor integration course, organize and distribute course material and attendance schedule. The leadership role helped to become an effective team player. This allowed to draw on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to help define, assess, and resolve a broad spectrum of diseases and illnesses during professional career. Developed the skill to listen intensively and communicate with people at all levels accurately. Experience of attending an international medical school has allowed to build on these abilities while also further developing understanding of cultural expectations and values.
