Since entering High School I have 170 service hours through The San Antonio chapter of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), all while being a leader at my high school. The Service hours completed extend from volunteering at local chapter events to walking the halls of congress to speak with national leaders. This was all done while maintaining good grades at school with both high school and college classes, also becoming a leader for my graduating class. everything from creating t-shirts for school, to being involved in multiple sports and academic organizations within the school. I consider myself a leader in all the communities I serve.
Since being a freshman in high school I have accomplished many things. One of the things I am the most proud of is being chosen to be a Children's Congress Delegate for JDRF (now Breakthrough T1D). I was 1 of 160 people selected out of 800 people that applied, and I enjoyed representing my organization, Uvalde, Knippa and myself.
I have also become a leader. I often am found leading projects and events in my school and community.
