Summary

I have spent the last 3 years working in restaurants and all of my job experience has involved a heavy emphasis on customer service. I worked as a cashier during the Covid pandemic and that required an immense amount of thick-skin, patience, and understanding customer needs during a stressful time. I've developed strong conversational skills and learned how to present possible solutions to a problem in a timely manner to avoid backlash from customers. I'm extremely hard-working and motivated to take on as much workload as possible. Lots of experience in large scale public dining, both on a casual level and a more fine dining environment. I take pride in the service that I give and love to create relations with patrons to ensure repeat visits.

  • Primarily work as nighttime bartender managing busy dinner rushes in the range of 200-400 covers per night
  • Proficient in California liquor laws in regards to alcohol portion sizes and gauging how "drunk" patrons might be
  • Excellent customer service skills both in communicating with guests and ensuring proper service etiquette

  • Training experience teaching three new trainees the menu cocktails, techniques to be more efficient during a rush as well as general expectations of service

Host/Busser/Takeout/Server

California Pizza Kitchen
09.2022 - 08.2023
  • Standard bussing job with requirement of maintaining cleanliness both to the guest eye, and proper sanitation of all surfaces to ensure the guests' experience
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks at the same time and performing "damage control" before problems arise (ie. keeping guests entertained while a solution to a problem is being handled)
  • Communications skills involved reservations and orders over the phone
  • Was used as a "hybrid" staff member frequently jumping between support staff and serving as business demanded
  • Transitioned into serving through skills acquired running the takeout department with a rough volume of $2000-3500 in sales per night

01.2022 - 09.2022
  • Standard cashier and customer service position involving cash handling and greeting/interacting with customers all day
  • Adept at finding a solution to a problem I might not personally have the answer to
  • Problem solving skills were practiced on a regular basis helping customers find everything necessary for home improvement/repairs

Busser

Spotlight 29 Casino
06.2021 - 07.2021
  • This was a typical bussing job, cleaning tables, floors, refilling drinks, helping servers run food and clear tables
  • Again, a heavy emphasis on customer service with it being a restaurant job.

Private Caregiver

self-employed
11.2020 - 05.2021
  • I helped take care of an elderly family friend of mine
  • She was 84 years old, no phone, no driver's license, and couldn't walk without a cane
  • I spent 4-5 days a week filling in for the time her son couldn't be there to take care of her, as his work involved traveling on a regular basis
  • I helped make her food, take her to/from all her various doctor appointments, helped her walk around the house and around town, maintained her scheduled medications, and kind of just kept her company because she didn't get much social interaction living alone and with the pandemic being in full force at the time.

Combo Clerk

Ralphs Grocery (Kroger)
09.2019 - 11.2020
  • I started as one of the bag boys who bag groceries, but within 2 weeks I was promoted to a combo clerk which meant I was certified to be a cashier
  • Transitioned into cashiering almost exclusively within the first month of this process
  • I worked probably 75% of my time with the company as the "cashier" part of the combo clerk
  • The job was heavily customer service based and being polite and openly friendly to all customers was something that was strictly enforced at all times
  • Other responsibilities included; keeping the floors clean/cleared, pushing shopping carts, cleaning bathrooms, receiving shipments (both physically unloading/stocking and checking everything was included on the shipment), and carrying heavy items for the majority older customer base we had at that store
