MoodPot- Java, XML, Tone Analyzer API, AngularJS, MySQL

A platform to detect an individual’s moods and play songs accordingly in order to make the whole process of listening to music much simpler and enjoyable for users. For more personalization, the application also featured a feedback option, which would enable every user to give feedback after every song played in order to customize the application more personally.

  • This was an Android based application, hence mainly worked on Android Studio, Firebase (to store and sync data), XML (to appropriately structure the application data) and Java.
  • Mood detection methods used were facial recognition, sentimental analysis (text- based) and sonic analysis (speech- based). This was done using various APIs already available in the market for the same (Affectiva, Tone Analyzer).
  • For further improvements, the application can be integrated with music platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud etc.
