I volunteered during these years with our local fire department to give support to our local community who for emergency calls relied solely on volunteer fire departments. During these years I took the EMT basic course through Coastal Carolina Community College. I also completed the Fire Fighter 1 and VR vehicle extrication course classes offered through our local fire departments. The years spent with Half Moon VFD allowed me to develop so many life saving critical skills and knowledge that I can still carry with me to this day. The reason for me leaving the department was my pregnancy with my first child.
