Volunteer

  • Student Volunteer, Hope Preservation Foundation - Kingston, Jamaica: received the opportunity to go on a free community
service trip to Jamaica with a small group of my peers. We volunteered at the Hope Botanical Gardens, Hope Zoo, and Evans
Basic School in Kingston. During this experience, I have learned a lot about Jamaican culture and pan-Africanism.
  • Community Health Screenings, BMORE Healthy Expo - Baltimore, MD: Provided blood pressure screenings, height, and
    weight measurements for the community.
  • Community Volunteer, Bread for the City - Washington, DC: volunteered with Bread for the City in Southeast DC, to help package food for those in need. This opportunity allowed me to give back to the community and reminded me of the importance of interacting with the community. Within my time there, I was able to see some of the challenges that people from various backgrounds face and it made me realize that anyone can need assistance at any point in their lives.

Extracurricular

  • MERIT Health Leadership Academy, 11/2021 - 6/2024

- a program where 45 students are accepted into three-year pipeline program for underrepresented, minority students in Baltimore
interested in health care fields. The mission of the program was to eliminate health care disparities by transforming Baltimore's high
school students into health care leaders.

  • Women in Pre-Med, 11/2024 - Present

- a program where women who are on a pre-med track take the opportunity to build their network, provide service to the community, and do leadership initiatives to prepare them for medical school while also building professionalism and wanting to build change
