Since May 2022, I have worked as a waiter and host at Lucky Wishbone, a busy diner in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. As a host, I greet customers, manage seating during peak hours, and maintain the flow of the dining area to minimize wait times. I handle phone inquiries, take reservations, and coordinate with staff to ensure tables are ready for new guests.

As a waiter, I take and deliver orders, answer questions about the menu, and handle payments. I collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of food preparation and delivery. I’ve gained experience in managing multiple responsibilities, staying organized during high-pressure shifts, and providing clear, friendly communication. These interactions have taught me how to work effectively with both customers and team members to create a positive dining experience.

From May to October of this year, I worked as a landscaper for the Anchorage Sports Association, maintaining outdoor spaces and ensuring they were safe, clean, and visually appealing. My responsibilities included mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting flowers, removing weeds, and performing general upkeep for sports fields and surrounding areas. I also operated and maintained equipment such as lawnmowers and trimmers, ensuring all tools were used safely and effectively.

This role required physical stamina, attention to detail, and efficient time management to complete tasks on schedule. I often collaborated with team members and communicated with supervisors to prioritize projects and meet expectations. This experience helped me develop strong work habits, follow instructions closely, and adapt to the specific needs of the community's outdoor spaces.

• I have over 1.5 years of experience (November 2020 – August 2022) working as a janitor, where I developed strong skills in time management, multitasking, and maintaining organized and safe environments. This role helped me build a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings. I’m confident these skills will help me excel as a sales associate by delivering excellent customer service, staying organized, and creating a positive experience for both customers and coworkers.
