Greeted Fred Meyers’ customers with a welcoming smile as they entered store shopping for groceries, clothing, etc. Provided excellent customer service to those specially searching for the perfect piece of jewelry to purchase; and those who were casually walking by were invited to stop in to browse.

Built relationships with customers by being honest and genuinely caring about their shopping experience and happiness with their purchases, which encouraged loyal repeat business.

Explained pros and cons of different pieces, value of items and terms of payment; completed credit checks and processed at least 8 Fred Meyers’ credit card applications daily; operated cash register, processed payments, entered sales into computer system; contacted clients inviting them to upcoming Diamond Show promotional events. Fairbanks has a large community of Vietnamese and Cantonese nationalities; therefore, my command of those languages were very helpful in providing them with a clearer understanding of our services, products and terms.

Security was a main concern at all times. Jewelry pieces and money count taken twice daily. Associates responsible for sales count and inventory of jewelry pieces. High-end jewelry moved to safe when closing. Process reversed upon opening.

Performed watch battery replacements and watch band adjustments, cleaned customer’s jewelry as a free service and performed basic housekeeping such as vacuuming, cleaning display surfaces and washing windows.
