With 13 years of experience in busy rural EMS systems, I have worked as an EMT, Paramedic, and Paramedic Critical Care professional. I recently expanded my skill set by completing additional education at the St. Louis County Fire Academy in 2021, where I obtained my Fire 1 & 2 certifications. Since 2022, I have been dedicated to serving as a firefighter paramedic. Throughout my career, I have accumulated over 11 years of invaluable experience as a paramedic, enabling me to confidently handle diverse medical emergencies and deliver exceptional care to those in need.

  • Responding to both fire related as well as EMS calls.

  • Perform fire suppression, as well as EMS and rescue services
  • This District handles approximately 1200 911 calls per year, and is a combination paid volunteer district.

  • Primarily working as a 911 paramedic with a busy ambulance district covering a large rural area of southern Jefferson County
  • Due to the size of the coverage area it necessitates an understanding as well as ability to perform more advanced treatments and use of specialized equipment
  • This includes RSI, IV pumps, Ventilators including CPAP, BiPap, with multiple modes of ventilation
  • Occasional critical care transports that requires CVP and arterial line monitoring, along with maintaining sedation, pain management on an already intubated patient.

  • This is a large, and busy district covering approximately 762 square miles with a mix of 911 and emergency/non emergency interfacility transfers
  • Call volume at the time were approximately 4000 per year with 2-3 ambulances depending on staffing levels at the time
  • Response times as well as transport times frequently were greater than 25 minutes with transport times averaging closer to 60 minutes to St
  • Louis area hospitals
  • Extended transport times, and limited cellular service required a large degree of autonomy when treating patients.
