- Position reports to: Senior Manager of Facilities (SMF). Day-to-day guidance and coordination may be provided by Facilities Technician Lead (FTL).
- Execute daily work orders and respond to facility maintenance needs across the zoo such as Support core Facilities functions including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds work.
- Assist with capital project execution and campus improvement efforts.
- Basic operation of trucks, tractors, forklifts, and power tools safely and effectively (training provided).
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on infrastructure and equipment.
- Conduct supply and material run; maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in clean, safe conditions.
- Collaborate with Animal Care to ensure safe and respectful work near habitats.
- Assist with event setups, site restoration, and temporary infrastructure.
- Work in all weather conditions and be available for emergency response or after-hours needs as required.
- Support project planning and execution from design input to final implementation. Coordinate and communicate effectively with Facilities Technician Leads and department managers.
- Provide field-level input on site logistics, safety considerations, and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate logs and records related to assigned work orders, inspections, and projects.
- Model professionalism, punctuality, safety-first behaviors, and team accountability.
