Supervises male or female inmates commensurate with the level of risk they present. Manages inmate housing areas, enforces rules and sanitation standards. Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter. Inventories personal property of inmates and issues receipts. Performs crisis intervention functions to include, but not limited to, subduing or restraining violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, and preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. Required to wear body armor and use weapons. Maintains facility security. This includes performing searches of inmates and other persons. This includes the visual inspection of body cavities and possible exposure to body fluids. Responsible for checking inmate mail and/or packages for contraband. Observes inmate behavior to identify inmates exhibiting mental or emotional disorders. Uses counseling techniques or referral action, as outlined in written policies or guidelines. Conducts inspections and visual and audio surveillance of persons, property, vehicles, building and outdoor areas. Physically checks doors, windows, gates, barred sections, fences and other areas to ensure proper security. Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include but not limited to, CPR, first aid, apprehension of escaping or escaped inmates, implementation of evacuation procedures, provides security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation. Directs Correctional Officers in supervising inmates in housing units and those segregated for administrative or punitive measures. Directs Correctional Officers in checking inmate mail for possible contraband, and in supervising inmates working on work details both inside and outside the fenced perimeter. Directs Correctional Officers in maintaining master inmate location counts and directs the entire operation of the Control Room or the Main Gate. Ensures that all transportation permits are completed accurately and signed by the appropriate authority. Directs Officers in preparing reports such as special progress, minor work, disciplinary and/or incident reports. Attends mandatory and other training as required. Performs other related duties as required.

Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines) Transport patients to the morgue, as needed. Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room. Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles. Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out. Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required.

Responds to calls for service, including but not limited to domestic disputes, assaults/batteries, burglaries, robberies, traffic accidents, lost or missing persons, verbal and physical altercations, stranded or disabled motorists, alarms, trespasses, and public service duties. Responsible for the preliminary investigation into traffic accidents and other incidents, which could include interviewing suspects, victims, complainants and witnesses, gathering information, collecting evidence, securing crime scenes, conducting follow ups, and making lawful arrests. Apprehends, arrests, processes, and transports offenders. Provides assistance and backup support to fellow officers, as well as providing mutual aid to other agencies and emergency service providers. Provides traffic control and direction as needed for special occasions such as parades, funerals, concerts, holiday celebrations, school crossings, and other events. Testifies and assists in judicial proceedings as necessary. Interacts with the public by providing community policing. Completes all required reports and forms in a timely manner. Responsible for maintaining assigned patrol vehicle, uniform, and equipment. Performs related duties

Read, comprehend, and implement actions required to carry out post orders written for assigned post. Monitor the safety practices and the preparation and dissemination of reports as required by policy. Perform searches of people and objects capable of concealing contraband, buildings and outdoor areas which will involve detecting and identifying objects, moving throughout the facility building(s) and/or grounds for long periods of time and detaining people. Function in confined areas including such things as serving food, working rotating shifts, extended patrol and physically checking doors and gates to ensure they are secure. Issue clothing and linen to housing units and requisitioned supplies as directed. Endure verbal and mental abuse when confronted with the hostile views and opinions of inmates and others encountered in an antagonistic environment. Take appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations. Ability to remain alert and react quickly and calmly in high stress situations. Although I was assigned to the jail division, I was also assigned to the Booking Department so I have experience in Data entry and the entry process into a jail facility.
