Each day I went with a new probation officer so I could see how each one works. I sat in on intakes with children when they first got arrested, I sat in on all the types of juvenile court cases and got to see how the court system worked with juveniles, and I also went out in the field to kids houses, schools, or placements and check up on them to see how they are doing. I also was shown juvenile detention centers and placements for serious offenders. I was shown places like Abraxas Detention Center, Mathem House which houses sex offenders, and Northeast Secure. Lastly, I did community service with some of the juveniles and probation officers which was painting curbs for the county.
