Worked over three summers at The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation’s (LDCRF) 15,000 square foot Rescue Care Center, the hub of its mission to provide safe housing and daily care for homeless dogs and cats awaiting adoption. LDCRF is one of the largest private animal rescue organizations in Northern Virginia, having saved over 50,000 pets since 2001.

• Supervised daily operations of animal care and kennel management to ensure cleanliness and safety standards within the environment.
• Coordinated feeding schedules and ensured proper nutrition for all animals in care to support their health and well-being.
• Assisted with medical treatments, including the administration of medication and vaccinations to animals.
• Maintained accurate records of animal intake, health status, and vaccinations to facilitate effective medical care and tracking.
• Trained new employees on proper animal handling techniques, providing ongoing support and guidance to enhance team capability and animal safety.
• Observed animal behavior to identify signs of distress or discomfort and responded appropriately to signs of distress, anxiety, or aggression.

Volunteered for a 3-acre farm dedicated to cultivating resilient relationships with food and natural systems through land-based learning.

• Cared for livestock, ensuring proper nutrition and health monitoring to support their well-being.
• Treated external parasites and fungal infection in farm goats with lime sulfur dip.
• Cultivated native crops with sustainable and organic methods, promoting environmental health and biodiversity.
• Monitored soil conditions and recommended amendments to enhance soil fertility and support crop growth.
• Cleared fields of invasive plants to enhance soil quality and support plant health.
