Art is a passion; The objective is to instruct and assist those with or without experience in creating art and understand the value art holds. I have been instructing these classes for several years and I love it. I realize that it is not only the students that learn something from the class, but I do as well. Whether it is learning to prepare for a class differently, or to be morally and verbally supportive of someone's creative freedom.

• Ordering and preparing inventory for upcoming classes

• Setting up and preparing for class which could consist of up to 20 people
• Assisting each individual in achieving their goals and needs in order to find success
• Providing relaxing, accepting, stress free and positive environment in order to make class a therapeutic experience

• Using customer and communication skills to ensure positive, enjoyable and safe environment for patrons as well as staff members
• Managed bar inventory, restocked supplies and organized spirits, beer, wines and mixers to maintain a prepared bar
• Assisted in kitchen inventory, placing orders, confirming inventory when delivered and organizing incoming produce
• Communicating and working with liquor reps. Advertising and promoting new products as well as up-selling when possible
• Working with several different POS systems. Adapting to new systems but also handling system failures/power outages
• Responsible for serving drinks, serving food, running drinks, maintaining clean bar and cleaning glassware
• Booking and preparing for special events

The Tap and The Cabin are neighboring sister bars. Both requested different needs and responsibilities in order to maintain a fully functioning bar. The Tap consists of a club like atmosphere with high demands and a high volume of foot traffic. The Cabin had a relaxed atmosphere during the day but an intense biker scene at night. Although very different from each other they both required similar needs.

The Garlands of Barrington is a retirement center located outside of Chicago. Besides having plenty of typical restaurant chores and responsibilities it was the employees obligation to maintain an optimistic attitude while working with senior citizens. The duty of the employees was not only to get our chores done but also to peruse, communicate, and build trusting relationships with the people who live in the facility.
