- Process biweekly payroll for teachers, administrators, and support staff in compliance with district policies and union contracts.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including salaries, stipends, deductions, and benefits.
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements related to pay scales, overtime, and leave accruals.
- Verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies with school administrators and department heads.
- Calculate and process adjustments such as retroactive pay, bonuses, and unpaid leave.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, including tax withholding and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with HR to update employee information, new hires, terminations, and status changes.
- Manage payroll deductions for benefits, retirement systems (e.g., state teacher retirement plans), and garnishments.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports, audits, and year-end documentation such as W-2 forms.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and payroll policies.
- Utilize payroll software systems and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support audits by providing documentation and ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial procedures.
