I've helped with my older sister who suffered a brain injury as a baby. She is developmentally delayed and has a vision impairment. I have worked on daily living tasks with her for many years to try to get her self sufficient and to rely less on family. A few things for example are, helping clean up her room or the table after we eat, sort different things, vacuum, get stuff from her room or from the kitchen.
I also make her use her words when she is trying to communicate her needs.
I will be attending UNLV in the fall of 2024 to start working towards my degree in Occupational Therapy as I've known for a long time that this is the path I am looking to go in.
In the meantime I've been working at McDonald's for 2 years and was made a shift manager a few months ago.
