Volunteer Experience
- Backpack Buddies: This is a local non-profit organization working to fight childhood hunger in St. Claire County schools. We are currently providing food for 231 children in 5 schools. My volunteer hours consist of setting up the cases of food to have it ready for packaging, delivering the food bags to the different schools, and packing food and hygiene bags.
- HTHS Library: Over the summer, I volunteered my school's library to help get all of the Chromebooks ready for the upcoming school year. Once a week for a month, I organized the Chromebooks by homeroom teacher's names, made sure that every student had a working computer and charger that was labelled with their name, and reset all of the computers in preparation for their new owners. Additionally, when that task was completed, I helped check the inventory on the books in the library, scanning them and uploading them to the library database.
- Peer Partners: This is a school organization dedicated to working with the kids in the Special Education program at HTHS. In this organization, our main job was to just be a friend to the kids in the program. We ate lunch with them throughout the school year and worked events such as the Special Olympics, Night to Shine Prom, and the Monster Mash Dance.
