Passionate educator skilled in lesson planning, behavior management, and effective parent-teacher communication. I attended Colorado Mesa University, where I earned my degree in education with a focus on special education. Throughout my experiences working in preschool, kindergarten, and educational support roles, I developed a strong passion for working with children with autism and supporting students with diverse learning needs. I am dedicated to creating inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environments where every child feels valued and capable of success.
As a kindergarten teacher, my duties include creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom where all students can learn and grow. I teach foundational academic skills such as letter recognition, phonics, early reading, writing, and basic math while using hands-on and engaging activities. I support students’ social-emotional development by teaching routines, problem-solving, communication, and positive behavior skills. I also differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with disabilities and varying ability levels. In addition, I collaborate with families, special education staff, and colleagues to support student success, monitor progress, and create meaningful learning experiences for every child.
As an education teacher for the Boys & Girls Clubs, I worked with students in kindergarten through 5th grade by creating engaging and educational activities that supported learning outside of the classroom. I planned and led a variety of STEM activities that encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on learning. I also supported students with homework, helped build positive relationships, and created a fun and safe environment where students could learn and grow academically and socially.
As a teacher assistant working between kindergarten and preschool classrooms, my duties included supporting teachers with daily classroom activities, assisting students with academic and social-emotional learning, and helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment. I worked with small groups and individual students, helped manage classroom routines and behavior, prepared learning materials, and supported students during centers, play, meals, and transitions. Moving between preschool and kindergarten allowed me to adapt to different age groups and support children’s developmental, behavioral, and academic needs throughout the school day.
