Activities

  • In middle school in which I attended Penn-Griffin Middle school I was a part of a club called “The Builders Club” which consisted of volunteer work around the school and off school grounds. In the Builders Club we as the students usually planted in the school’s garden, gathering resources for the homeless, and even participating in school games such as selling tickets, selling snacks, and souvenirs during the home games.
  • In High School when I attended High Point Central High School I participated in service learning activities from first semester of my Junior year to my first semester in my Senior year of high school. While I did service learning for two years I decided to participate in helping children, so I volunteered in a center my mother use to work at and were I use to attend when I was younger which happens to be The Boys and Girls club. I began to help the teachers with helping the students with homework and mentored the children while they did activities. I even went on trips with the children to the local homeless shelter helping to feed the homeless. In the long run of participating in service learning I then was rewarded a certificate for getting at less 100 points and being apart of helping people in need. It also helps me to get a scholarship from colleges I apply for.
  • In my Sophomore year at Andrews High School participated in Chorus we traveled to at less two retirement homes to sing melodies to the elders I even got the chance to sing at the graduation ceremony which took place in the Greensboro Coliseum.
  • I have also gotten involved in a dance group at Andrews but in the process of auditioning I got hurt and quit immediately because of a metal plate that was placed in my leg back in 2012 at the age of 12 years old but as the years passed I have overcome and healed successfully and have no problems I began to get involved in school activities to keep me active and motivated.
  • In MJROTC I was a part of the practice rifle team and volunteered in color guard during football games at less twice. I myself I have participated in traveling with our commanding officer Major Torres I have at less traveled with major at less four times the most important two events I attended with the major and my fellow cadets was when High Point University had a celebration they held inside of the college gym acknowledging our fellow soldiers and we also participated in a service for our fallen cadets which was held in a memorial. During the participation in ROTC my reward was getting ranked as the second female in class to be Cadet Corporal and given a blanket from High Point University for being part of and participating in the program.
