In regard to the communication, creative, and entertainment spectrum, I am an avid writer who has written over 60 poems, produced stories, and a bevy of voice recording activities such as acting and songs. My writing style is a treat to society that uplifts the spirits in others, which ties into my extracurricular day job as a hardworking youth football coach. My mission in life is to grow my platform as a writer in order to captivate the masses to firmly digest material through my content.
On a fall Saturday afternoon, a group of children are out playing dodgeball in an open field. Devin, Carmen, Aaleeyah, and Joshua. "Incoming! Ha, you missed me! Slow poke." The kids are saying to one another. "Hey Josh, I'm going to give you a face rocker!" Aaleeyah says. "In your dreams!" Joshua screams. Aaleeyah whispers to herself, "Target sighted." She launches the ball with all of her might and hits him square on the nostrils. "Ooooh! Darn! You're gonna feel that in the morning dude, haha!" Says Devin & Carmen simultaneously. Joshua lies on the ground, hesitant to get up. "Josh! Hey Josh! .... Josh, are you alright!?" Carmen and Devin sprint over toward him. Aaleeyah stands back with her hand over her mouth; nervous as can be. "Come on dude, get up!" Says Devin. "AHHHH!" Joshua screams while getting up. With blood gushing down his face and onto his shirt. All of the kids gasp deeply. "Aaleeyah, you busted my nose! I need to get to a clinic." Joshua says in pain. ''I'm sorry Josh, it was all in good fun. No hard feelings at all." Aaleeyah apologizes. "It's okay." Joshua said. "Great, now we have to stop the game for this nonsense. You just have to be sensitive!" Carmen says in discomfort. "Take a hard throw to the face and you'd be bleeding too. You know I'm right Carmen." "Okay, let's stop arguing. That won't solve anything." Devin intervenes. "Uhh, the local clinic is some walk. We have a ways to go." Carmen whines. "It's 4:00. We have to get home by the time the streetlights come on. It gets dark at 5:30." Aaleeyah states. "Ahh, my nose hurts so bad." Joshua says randomly. "Hang tight man, we're on our way there." Devin says. Carmen bluntly screams, "Aaleeyah, this is all your fault!" "Stop Carmen!!" Everyone says to her in annoyance. Twenty minutes later, they arrive at the local clinic. "We're here. Once again, Josh I apologize." Aaleeyah said. "Aaleeyah, trust me. It's okay." Joshua confirms.
The kids wait in the lobby for Joshua's X-Ray results. The doctor comes out. "Give it to me straight doc!" Joshua says eagerly. "Your nose is deeply bruised young man. However, not broken. Come with me to the back and I'll have you healed in no time. The rest of you please wait here in the lobby." The doctor states. "Look at those fish in the tank. Hey, it's a clown fish!" Says Carmen. "Wow they are rare. I hardly see them at all." As Devin laughs. "It's 4:30, we have one hour." Aaleeyah says in worry. “Your friend will not be out for another 20 minutes.” The nurse states bluntly. "20 minutes!? We're looking at 4:50!!" "Calm down Aaleeyah, we'll be home in time.” Said Carmen. Time shoots by and Joshua comes out of the doctor's office; clean as a whistle. "Wow that's amazing! What did he do?" Carmen asked. "He tilted my head back with paper towel and put ice on it." "Are you kidding? Why didn't we think of that?" Devin asked while shaking his head. "It's five minutes until 5. We have to turn on the jets. Let's make getting home fun!" Aaleeyah improvises. "You bet! Hey, let's run fire hydrants. When we see a hydrant, we'll take off and run to the next one. When we reach it, we'll walk until we hit the one after." Joshua explains. "Sounds like a good time. You kids get home safely!" Says both the doctor and nurse. "Thank you! We will. You as well, bye!" As they storm out of the front door. "Here's a hydrant. Ready .. set .. go! Last one home is an Elephant butt!" Carmen shouts. "I'm in the lead! I'm winning this bad boy." Aaleeyah cries passionately. "In your dreams!" Says everyone else. "It's 5:15! We have five minutes before the street lights pop on. 15 to get home. Let's make it happen!" Devin screams. "Aaleeyah, I'm gaining on you." "Heck if you are!" She yells back. "You're all about to eat my dust." Joshua interrupts. "Whatever feather nose!” Carmen yells. "You're in last place Carmen." Says Joshua. "Here's our street, let's go. 10!” As they all count down. 9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1.” Joshua is first to touch base. They all reach their driveway and look up. The lights pop on, right on time. "YES!!!" As they all shout and jump in excitement. "Carmen you Elephant butt!" They all say to her. "Aww shucks, but at least I beat the light!" "Yes you did." Said Joshua. "Well, I win. Face rocker, space rocker Aaleeyah!” She scoffs. "Hey huddle up!" As she calls the crew forward. "Today was fun. Next time, let's be more careful on how we play. We don't want any of us getting hurt. We're best friends. Let's continue to look out for one another." She concludes. "Together on 3. 1...2...3 TOGETHER!" The kids are home safe and sound. With a memorable and joyous play date in the books.

I have always been curious on what my ultimate outlet would be. I have had wild dreams ever since I could remember. I felt in my heart that I had a special gift ever since the tender age of five. I did not know what that gift was, but time definitely revealed it to me. I discovered my escape at the age of 17. That is writing, I have always been fascinated with writing. I find it amazing how people can write novels, magazines, and poetry. Since I am at the beginning stages of my writing career, I realize that it is an amazing luxury to have. Being able to use your imagination and take yourself places that you can only dream of is very special. As an adolescent, my mother would always aim to find my calling. She would go to extreme measures to find out what was meant for me. Little did she know, I just needed a pencil and paper. I was born to be a writer. When I write, I feel that I have found my soulmate. Whenever I am in a mood of any sort, the notepad is always there for me. Which ultimately led to becoming a successful published author. I began blogging in my early 20's. My blog site, "Masterofthewise" is where all of my published poetry and stories reside. Lastly, I started a podcast in March of 2022 called, "Mitchway" where my content is judgement free, no holds barred, and open to discuss any entity that comes to mind.
