Provides heart-centered presence in working with clients and their needs. Understands the responsibility of therapeutic touch and respects the client/therapist client power differential by meeting each person who comes in with presence and uses meditation and breathwork techniques during sessions to help the clients come into a state of presence within themselves. Believes in a therapists role as a facilitator for the individual client to show up for their own healing by working with energies inside of the places where pain is present and allowing it to move if and when the client is ready to move it. To Amanda, bodywork is a collaboration between therapist and client and is honored to be a part of the journey of anyone who steps into a healing space.
I love to play and sing with my husband. I have a whole other resume for my time performing in live professional Theatre in New York, Portland, and Austin,TX. Once I have more time, I am excited to attend some open mics and perform in the area.
Another love of mine and what I call my "happy place" is the Empyrean Arts Aerial Studio here in Asheville. My current apparatus is the Aerial Silks. We are looking for a piece of property in the area so I can put up my personal rig and have a practice out of my home too.
I have completed the Family Herbalist Program with the Human Path School of Herbalism based in San Antonio, TX and have started getting involved in the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine here in Asheville. I am passionate about the gifts of Mother Earth and ethical/responsible wildcrafting and teaching people about how they can help themselves in situations that don't call for or need higher care. I am passionate about women's health and the transition specifically from maidenhood to motherhood and the ways in which the healing offerings I provide can support women through this very intense and beautiful time in their lives.
I also have some permaculture experience with the Wild Abundance School out in Barnardsville. I love living in this area for it abundance and eco-minded community members. I am looking forward to immersing myself in all things that support symbiosis within ourselves and therefore with our environment.
