Summary

I truly enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for learning and discovering novel ideas and processes. I strive to learn from those around me and in turn share my knowledge and expertise as I recognize we all have different strengths. I excel when I'm in a difficult situation that requires a unique and obscure solution. Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and even parenting all require the ability to relate to others and understand their needs. Equally important is the ability to clearly articulate what you want or require and delegate it in a respectful manor.

Known for high productivity and efficient task completion. Skilled in analytical techniques, laboratory safety protocols, and quality control processes. Excel at problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, ensuring successful project outcomes in complex environments.

06.2001 - 02.2006

  • As an organic chemist intern I was tasked with creating libraries of chemicals with certain reactive characteristics.
  • They would tell me the basics, what type of reactivity the molecule needed, the preferred orientation, and any specialty groups.
  • I would then make the molecule from raw materials and attach it to a resin scaffold.
  • I would make several hundred at a time and take them through extensive reactions.
  • These libraries were tested to find new pharmaceuticals.

Additional Information

Although I have been out of academic research and industrial application for many years, I am a quick learner and able to pick up new procedures and policies quickly. I have extensive experience in dealing with people from all areas of industry and all levels of academia. No matter what my level of experience and learning, I was always treated like a peer, even if the person next to me just earned a Ph.D. from Stanford. I will always remember how well I was regarded as an undergraduate researcher and strive to show others the same respect. I am very well rounded and have a skill set that could benefit your company on many levels. I love to be challenged and work well under pressure. I am able to derive solutions quickly when the unexpected arises and have the resolve to carry those solutions out and contribute my all until there is an agreed upon outcome.
