Project 1: The Columbia Lighthouse Project’s (Zero Suicide)

  • It's mission is to light the way to ending suicide.
  • Identifying people who are most at risk for suicide and direct them to the help they need.
  • The Columbia Protocol questions use plain and direct language, which is most effective in eliciting honest and clear responses. As shown below
  • The Columbia suicide Severity rating scale (C-SSRS) are versions specific to primary, emergency, and inpatient care setting.
  • Patient health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) to screen for depression.

Project 2: TIPPS (Texas Incentives for Physicians and Professional Services)

  • Patients are screened for food insecurities using the Hunger Vital Sign (HVS) 2 questions.
  • "Within the past 12 months we worried wether out food would run out before we got money to buy more."
  • "Within the past 12 months the food we bought just didn't last and we didn't have money to get more."
