Work History

RN

Baptist Health Louisville
11.2023 - Current
  • Currently, I am working in Neuro ICU at BHL. My patient population is young adult to geriatric. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to care for and treat stroke, brain and central nervous system cancers, as well as neurological diseases. The most rewarding part of this job is the collaboration between a wide variety of disciplinary teams, and their comprehensive approach to care.

RN

University of Cincinnati Medical Center
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • I was contracted at UCMC as a travel nurse. This is also a level 1 trauma, and teaching hospital. The patient population is teenagers through older adulthood. This unit also regularly keeps “boarders” throughout the day and sometimes into the night. Occasionally, these patients will spend several days in PACU. When this occurs, they are cared for just as if they were admitted to a floor/unit.

RN

University of Kentucky Hospital
10.2022 - 05.2023
  • I worked in PACU full-time, as a contracted travel nurse. This hospital is a level 1 teaching hospital. My patient population included anything from older adults to infants. During this contract, I worked night shift. I would recover, and preop patients. I helped preop in the mornings to get first start cases out to surgery on time. Most nights I had “boarders,” who were patients that did not have rooms. These patients were cared for just as if they were in a floor/unit room.

RN

St. Louis University Hospital
07.2022 - 10.2022
  • I was contracted through a travel agency to work in PACU full-time. This hospital is a level 1 teaching hospital. I worked mid-day and night shift. During the day, I would recover patients from surgery. I would either send my patients to Phase 2 for discharge or to a floor/unit room. When working towards evening and night shift, I would also preop and discharge patients.

RN

Vanderbilt University Medical Center
12.2021 - 07.2022
  • Contracted through a travel agency to work as a staff RN in PACU at a level 1 trauma and teaching hospital in Nashville. Surgical cases range from smaller mass excisions that were discharged the same day to high level trauma patients. We also worked with kidney transplant patients. I collaborated with a large team of nurses to care for, at times, over one hundred cases a day. I discharged, admitted, and occasionally would preop patients.

RN

Baptist Health Louisville
01.2012 - 11.2021
  • I worked in PACU, with a team of nurses and doctors to care for a range of diverse surgical patients. Each day I was assigned as either a runner, where I helped everyone on the unit take care of patients, or a dedicated recovery nurse recovering up to 2 patients at a time. During my shift I provided patient assessment, admittance, discharge, medications, and patient education for surgeries ranging from critical care to simple outpatient procedures. Occasionally, we were an ICU overflow unit and code bed for the hospital. Our unit was also the code team for OR, PACU, endoscopy, preop/preop holding, cath lab, and the waiting room. When I am designated a runner for the unit, I also work as part of the code team.

RN

University of Louisville Health
09.2018 - 02.2021
  • I worked with a small team of nurses in the PACU to care for surgical patients from all over the region. Each day I was assigned two bays where I provide care to post-surgical patients ranging from critical care/trauma to outpatient procedures. During my shift, I provided patient assessment, medications, help with stabilization after surgery, discharge or would move patients to their next level of care. This was my first experience in a teaching hospital that also took care of trauma patients and has such a diverse population. I have learned how to collaborate with new doctors in their first year of residency and fellows close to practicing on their own.
