  • Company Overview: Centene Company is a Medicaid managed care organization, as well as the number one carrier in the nation on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
  • I started as Customer Service Rep, helping Provider with basic questions regarding members health benefits, eligibility, and also searched for authorizations or claim status if needed. I was then asked to help as Medicaid Florida Member services, and helped members with their questions that pertained to their coverage. I was asked to start in a new project that was Provider Claims Support. In this postition I helped Providers with Claims status, reprocessing of claims, and basic questions pertaining to claims, such as rejected, pended and denied claims.

  • Company Overview: PAP is a very large Pediatric practice that serves Abilene and the surrounding areas.
  • As a bookkeeper, I checked and verified all health insurances for eligibility, copays, and any payments due. Also verified patients demographic, collect copays and set up payment plans when needed. One of the other jobs was to build claims, add modifiers, procedure codes/CPT/ICD-10 codes as needed prior to bill submissions to the health insurance carriers. Prior to Bookkeeper, I was also Medical Assistant and Receptionist. Initially started as Medical Assistant helping Nurses and Doctors with Patients. I took vitals, entered all infomation needed for Doctor into the patients chart, to prepare them to then see the physician. Shortly after, the front office needed help, and I moved to Receptionist postition with several duties. Answering calls, scheduling appointments, and also directed calls to appropriate department. I was able to modify the Doctors schedules when needed by them. Faxed paperwork, scanned documents such as x-rays, lab results, EKG reportsetc., into the patients charts. Also prepared Medical Records when requested by patients or other offices.
